Does the president like Star Wars?

The Force is strong with this one. Hopefully this is the answer you’re looking for.

The White House’s response to the Death Star petition (2nd link) is pure gold.

Q: Why does that character have to be gay/bi/black/Asian/Hispanic/etc?

A: As opposed to what?

I’ve found this to be a useful response, because many people will hesitate before saying “white” or “straight.” That hesitation comes from the realization, however…

My school was doing an audition for the children version of The Hobbit, but for the 2nd and 3rd graders and I was at kindergarten. They said I was too young and I couldn’t just crash the auditions, but I was like “Hey, I wanna audition.” (x)

ok but I just really love the names they give them

"The Ridiculous Potato"

"The Unfortunate Clementine"

I’m giggling it’s like a team of ragtag misfit superheroes

I love the sometimes absolutely ugly but completely tasty produce that comes out of my garden.

so grateful for businesses like this

awesome idea

Actually a wonderful idea! I don’t care how my fruits and veggies look when buying them — I only care about the price and the ripeness.

I should probably specify that Nikola Tesla is a cat and Serbian-American inventor Nikola Tesla is not wandering around my house hiding under things because he is dead

Maybe you can afford to wait. Maybe for you there’s a tomorrow. Maybe for you there’s one thousand tomorrows, or three thousand, or ten, so much time you can bathe in it, roll around it, let it slide like coins through you fingers. So much time you can waste it.
But for some of us there’s only today. And the truth is, you never really know.

Lol

No, I’d say the show does a great job of representing the typical 18-34 male with Larry, with his constant need for validation, attention, and the world to revolve around him.

not to mention Bennet’s quest to prove that he’s a man, Pornstache’s overcompensation that disguises his vulnerability, Healy’s struggle to make positive change that is frustrated by his need to be loved by a woman, and Caputo’s exploration of his desire to control the world around him and whether or not he wants to do that.

men are quite accurately represented in the show, the only issue male viewers seem to have is that these men display the warped nature of man’s dominance, and the idea that their superiority is not perfect and noble is offensive.

thepoliticalbreakdown asked:

I've been writing that I don't understand why Israel isn't following elementary counterinsurgency as espoused by David Kilcullen ("The Accidental Guerilla") and General Petraeus and proven in Iraq. The key: get the people on your side with minimum force and maximum exposure and trust-building. I recognize it's a more complicated dynamic with Israel/Palestine, yet Israel is literally doing the exact opposite. Creating more insurgents through heavy force. What do you think?

If someone is doing the exact opposite of the only strategy that is known to work, what is the most reasonable conclusion to draw? … that they don’t want to achieve that which they claim to want to achieve?

I asked a question of PoliticalProf and he was kind enough to answer. Have to say, I haven’t been able to reach any other conclusion besides his own.
